John Ryan - the 'Medicine Man'
John has been turning laughter into a mental health workout in workplaces, dimly lit rooms and cruise ships around the world for decades. While his shows are highly acclaimed, it is John's work around mental and men's health that sets him apart.
John has published research in the Journal of Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology on how comedy can boost mental wellbeing and received two Society of Public Health Arts and Health Awards for his work in prisons and army bases.
With quick wit and a sharp understanding of the world around us, John can adapt to different and unconventional audiences, delivering practical advice in different art forms. For example, through poetry and stand-up, to training, MCing, informational videos, and entertaining speeches.
Natasha Donovan - the 'Patient Whisperer'
Natasha's life reads like a gripping sitcom, but she's not here just for a laugh. Based on her own experience of battling cancer, Natasha delivers powerful lessons in health communication with a patient-first approach.
She is a teaching fellow, clinical educator, and simulation specialist, having worked at King's College London, Willmott Dixon, and Cancer Research UK's Precision Medicine team. Natasha has published research in the Journal BJPsych Open about role-playing workshops co-designed for psychiatric settings, helping students develop better communication with patients and foster empathy.
Natasha has owned her story on TED Talk stages and conference rooms, through journalism and radio, expertly adapting to the audience with humour and community spirit. This is also reflected in her role as a Trustee for the Bethnal Green Memorial.
